ERIC HAMELIN & NATE WATERS
No strangers to the Bug Incision stage, these two have been logging the occasional session in service of building up a new repertoire for their saxophone & drumset explorations. They performed a ferocious set last December, and both musicians have been in top form; Waters has been busy with his usual live and session work as a first-call reedsman of distinction, and also just celebrated the release of debut EP Stay In Your Lane from his art-pop band Eye of Newt. Hamelin, while also continually providing the rhythmic backbone of Ghostkeeper and Shane’s acclaimed new solo project, also just wrapped some excellent recording sessions for a soon-to-announced new album (stay tuned), featuring his compositions and one-of-a-kind drumming.
GHOST CARS
Ghost Cars is the solo vehicle for one Matt Belton, longtime member of Edmonton’s rich community of sonic experimenters. Some may know these names from recent acclaimed collaborations with Bug Incision past performers Pigeon Breeders, or running the Mangled Tapes label for many years, but this show will present Belton alone, coaxing waves of grainy sound from his guitar, sampler, and amp that will have one pining for the days of Mouthus and Axolotl.
